Abstract
Modern political processes often take the form of shows and carnivals. In turn, this requires a view of political institutions, processes and technologies that allows you to see behind them the veiled mechanisms of governance. Of greatest interest in this context is the study of the United States as a country where multi-purpose interest groups have real political influence.
