Abstract

The article analyzes the image of the Russian Federation and its foreign policy in the leading media of Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro in the period from the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis in 2014 to the present time – the special military operation in Ukraine in 2022. The paper examines the causal relationship and historical background of the reactions of the Balkan states to the actions of the Russian Federation outside its borders. The relevance and the practical value of the study consist in the possibility of using its main results to develop recommendations to ensure the Russian presence in the media space of the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
