Abstract

The paper presents an overview of public pages in social networks that the information support bodies of the armies of foreign states use to inform the public about the activities of the armed forces. The authors define theoretical and methodological approaches to scientific and practical research of public pages in social networks as a tool for informing the public. Special attention is paid to the consideration of the key characteristics of the network interaction between military authorities and the Internet audience via social media platforms, identification of specific features of public pages maintained by the information support bodies of the armed forces of Austria and Germany. The search for pages was conducted through the open Internet sources available for analysis before the introduction of restrictions by Roskomnadzor, which followed the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
