Abstract

The article considers the evolution and dynamics of the implementation of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project in the context of the One Belt One Road initiative. The authors present the following conclusions as the results of the study. 1. Construction of new transport corridors seems to be a sustainable form of integration. The construction of connecting segments of international transport corridors through the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic will certainly contribute to the exit from transport isolation and will become an impact for the development of the country's transport infrastructure. The COVID-19 pandemic has made its own adjustments to this issue, as a result, the vital need for access (inclusion) to international transport corridors for the Kyrgyz Republic has clearly become apparent during a difficult epidemiological situation. 2. At the same time, it is obvious that international transport corridors are a threat to small states, as they are an instrument of influence on them. For this reason, for the successful functioning of international transport corridors, it is necessary to create a differentiated regime of responsibility. The authors propose a recommendation on the elaboration and updating of existing conceptual approaches, taking into account the formation of a new system of transport infrastructure of the Eurasian continent as part of the One Belt One Road initiative and pay special attention to the issues of greening and safety of the construction and operation of the railway.
