Abstract
The empirical base of the article is a survey of teachers and doctors from public schools and hospitals in Russian cities (Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Kazan, 2017–2018). The article analyzes the social and economic status perception by socially oriented professionals, the assessment of the precarization degree of their labor and the level of protest sentiments manifestation. The results of the study report significant risks of precarization of urban teachers and physicians, caused by the instability of their work, increasing workload without an adequate increase in wages. However, the level of protest sentiments among socially oriented professionals is quite low.
