Abstract
In the formation and development of the SCO as a new system of sub-regional cooperation in maintenance of peace, stability and security an important role belongs to Kazakhstan. Its initiatives in the further improvement of the mechanisms for practical co-operation and its forms are reported in the Astana Declaration of the Tenth Anniversary of the SCO.
