Abstract
This article is devoted to the urgent issue of corruption in Russia. The author analyses the official sources, materials of sociological researches, devoted to the study of the opinion of elites of the Republics of Buryatia, Sakha (Yakutia) and Tuva in 2004-2010. The analysis demonstrates that the republican political elites as well as the total population are confident in a wide spreading of corruption in Russia. The reasons for corruption are different: they differ from the excessive bureaucracy to a low cultural and educational level of people. From the author's point of view, it is necessary to fight against corruption systematically, using a wide range of measures. Recognizing the importance of the problem author concludes that the real fight against corruption is expected only in a long term period. And the data of the article allows examining the low-studied valuable orientation of the republican political elite to the designated problem.
