Abstract
In the article the basic value orientations of regional political elite of Siberian region as important factors for the implementation of its modernization potential is analyzed. The authors studied value orientations of the political elite of the region using the method of the semi-structured interview. The article shows a comparative analysis of value orientations of the political elite and the population of the Krasnoyarsk region. The typology of the basic values used for the analysis in this research was worked out by N.I. Lapin. The results of the research demonstrated that the political elite of this Siberian region is more oriented on liberal values, while population is more oriented on the traditional and universal human values, and the members of the legislature are more focused on preservation of the existing order.
