Abstract

In this work the author gives the definition, basis and description of the solid power, a new conceptual metaphor. The main hypotheses of the author based on the fact that the American concepts of soft and smart power allow building doctrines, strategies and scenarios that support the ideological formulation of the hard power policy. The policy is veiled under the idea of promoting the model of American democracy and justification of the military intervention and economic pressure on the other countries with the voluntary consent or participation of the citizens. The author points out the reasons for the political mistakes of the American administration, which led the United States to deflation of the resources of soft and smart power and gradually descended its potential. This is why the United States are rapidly losing their political credibility at the international arena. The impetus for this were the events in Ukraine, which exposed the weak points in the American coercive scenarios. The author's opinion is that Russia realizes a new scenario based on the solid power as a new form of political power, the basis of which are a dialogue, trust, and unity. Russia is returning to the big politics as a strong, independent country, ready to defend its interests, and to restore its influence in the world. Political modernization of the world picture at the arena of the struggle for Ukraine creates a point of no return to the old unipolar model of existence.
