Abstract

This article is devoted to the problem of the civilization security in contemporary Mongolia. The article is based on the idea, that the basis of the civilization security is a religious identity. The author pays special attention to the problem of nomination. Nomination is a right to call anything alien to the traditions of nomadic peoples. In fact, the group of the politicized intellectuals who are guided by obviously engaged theories appropriated this right. Religion in this situation is presented in two characteristic: 1) as a not attribute/attribute of a civilization; 2) as an independent nomination system. The author concludes the article by the thesis that the civilization security is an imagined category and is not correlated with real politics. The main idea of the author is that Mongolia should open lots of capabilities for a foreign religious as a result of pressure of globalization process. The challenge from Christianity is not dangerous for the Mongolian identity because there is high competition between branches of Christianity in this state.
