Abstract

In the article a social portrait of the declared participant of the meeting in the Bolotnaya square is described. The author analyzes the thematic community in a social network «VKontakte». The research method is targeting. The core (43% of users) and the periphery (57% of users) of the participant’s community were distinguished by the author. Study showed that mainly residents of Moscow, men and young people at the age of 18-34 were the core of the protest movement in a virtual society. The values of self-development, family and children and perfecting of the world are important for them. They do appreciate the peoples’ kindness and honesty. The author reveals socio-demographic characteristics and value orientations and significant differences between the users of the selected community and other users of social network «VKontakte».
