Abstract
The article proves the assertion about the impact of ideas of Christian Wolff, professor of University of Marburg, on the views of Mikhail Lomonosov. The authors estimate that fundamental features of Lomonosov`s views has developed under the direct influence of Wolff. In this case the opinion of the Russian Marxist George Plekhanov about insignificance of the Wolff`s influence on the Lomonosov`s views is refuted. The paper shows that thanks to his German teacher Lomonosov formed himself as a theorist and scholar who sought not to limit his activities by empirical science. Nevertheless, the authors do not define Lomonosov as orthodox follower of Wolff. The authors substantiate the thesis about significant impact of Wolff on Lomonosov`s research activities in perception of Wolffian teleological approach in the field of knowledge. In this regard, particular attention is drawn to the historical aspects and interpretation of Lomonosov`s ideas. In particular, it demonstrates the use of teleological method by Lomonosov in the development of history. According to the author's assessment, in historical concepts of Lomonosov teleology of Wolff’s direction prevails.
