Abstract

In the article the detailed analysis of participation of representatives of the Russian social democracy in development of concrete positions, in edition and in subsequent realization of the Order No. 1 of the Petrograd Soviet of working and soldier's deputies from March, 1st, 1917 is carried out. The author draws a conclusion, that, being guided by good intentions of carrying out the maximal democratization of army in conditions of the won February revolution, social democrats could not count all possible consequences of the edition of the Order No 1 for the Russian army. These consequences were expressed in the greater decomposition and decline of discipline among soldiers, that finally has led to the disgraceful output of Russia from the World War I and to signing humiliating for Russia conditions of the Brest peace.
