Abstract
The article analyzes the program of training of junior officers in the institute of military education with account of the new federal state educational standards for secondary vocational education. Using sociological instruments within the competence approach, the ideal social design model of the training of junior officers in the institute of military education is designed. The author describes the program of study from position that would meet the needs of a personality, society and the state.
