Abstract
The article discusses the role of cultural policy in the modern Russia`s image strategy. The author stresses that the instruments of cultural policy are not fully used in promoting the image of Russia in the world`s communication channels, and it reduces the efficiency of image policy. Today there is a need in forming national strategy for cultural policy at the state level, in implementation of monitoring of the results. Russia needs not only public, but also state support in the field of cultural policy. Only a highly professional approach in the field of cultural policy can make image policy of Russia truly efficient.
