Abstract
The revival of Islam in the post-Soviet Dagestan was marked by progressive split of Islamic space. It has led to appearance of dozens of warring groups. The main reason for the split was completely opposite views of Islamic and secular parts of Dagestan society on the fundamental principles of structure of the modern society and state.
