Abstract

The article examines assessments and analysis of the Mongolian foreign policy, given by foreign scientists. Western methodological concept is significantly different from the Russian-oriented view at the history of Mongolia. Foundations of the «multi-supporting» foreign policy of modern Mongolia, which is responsible to the challenges of its national security, are analyzed. The principle of equidistance in relations with major foreign partners is becoming less feasible and effective, because such an approach inevitably brings advantages for the Chinese side. Thus, redefining ideas about ways of ensuring national security is one of the most pressing problems for the modern Mongolia. In this case it is appropriate to speak about increasing attention to economic cooperation with Russia.
