Abstract
Diplomatic activity of Ivan Maisky during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 is of great interest for historians, but is insufficiently known. The aim of the article is to provide the reader with the analysis on non-official part of diplomatic activity of Ivan Maisky, when the ambassador tried to use his contacts with different important people, organizations, and press to complete the tasks given by the Soviet government. The article attempts to give estimation of Maisky’s role in resolving of such important issues as opening the second front and signing the agreement concerning military supplies by land-lease from England and USA.
