Abstract

Objective of the study is to consider the peculiarities of conducting information wars in postmodern society and the specifics of their classification. The methodological basis of the research. The problem of classifying information wars in postmodern society is based on the works of foreign and domestic scientists who have studied the problems of information wars (Harold Lasswell, Martin Libiki, V. G. Afanasyev, D. A. Volkogonov), their classification (D. Denning, P. Lazersfeld and R. Merton, A. V. Manoilo, Yu. P. Surmin, N. V. Tulenkov) and the content content of the concept defining them (Martin Libiki, G. G. Pocheptsov). Research results. The paper concludes: since all types of wars distinguished in the modern scientific space have one common weapon – information, then we can only talk about one form of war – information, all the others are its subspecies, which should be built in the classification system based on additional components. The methods used in Ukraine to transform the consciousness of the population towards radical nationalism are highlighted. It is indicated that the education system, in the context of the realities of modernity, has formed a new task – the education of a personality type with knowledge and skills that allow to counteract the information impact. Prospects of the study are connected with the subsequent study of the features of the information war and the use of the results obtained to create projects to counter information influence at all levels.
