Abstract

Objective of the study is to substantiate the role of the modern higher education system in the formation of the ecological component of the social behavior of young Russians. The methodological basis of the research is based on the conceptual basis of the sociological theory of the development of creative culture. Research results. The article analyzes the insufficiently developed aspect of the problem of formation of ecological values in the structure of social orientations of young people in Russian sociology. The accents inherent in the sociological discourse regarding the barriers preventing the paradigm shift of the value orientation of young Russians from consumer to ecophile, and ways to overcome them, are revealed. Prospects of the study. The demand for strengthening the role of the university education system, first of all, in the conceptual updating of the structure of curricula and programs towards the practical implementation of environmental imperatives enshrined in the regulatory framework of the Russian Federation, in order to ensure the competence of students as a factor in achieving the goals of national development towards the modernization of all spheres of life of the Russian society, is sharply increasing.
