Abstract
This article examines transformational changes of the conservative-liberal tendencies in the social behavior of the university students in the Rostov region in the period from 2017 to 2020. The author makes a conclusion about the growing contradictions in the views and values of students in the educational and civil spheres. There is an increase in the importance of high-quality Russian higher education, along with the desire to study abroad. In the civil sphere, there are trends towards alienation from civil-political practices and greater involvement in civil-social practices. This study has prospects for studying further changes in the social behavior of the university students and in a comparative analysis with other regions of Russia.
