Abstract
The article concludes that the environmental consciousness of the Russian youth continues to remain dependent on processes of development of civil society in Russia. The introduction of its basic ideas can substantially adjust patterns of behavior of young people towards more green behavior, ensuring the development of a culture of responsibility towards nature. It is noted that the practical meaning of the formation of the ecological habitus of young people provides an understanding of themselves as a harmonious subject, included in nature, able to solve environmental problems that are in the plane of urban culture and local government. It is emphasized that the development of civil society as a whole reflects the global trends of concern in solving environmental problems, but, above all, it forms a more eco-friendly way of life, especially among the most educated social groups.
