Social Consolidation and Innovative Development of the Regional Space of the South of Russia: Methodological Scheme of Research

Abstract

This article proposes the author's methodological scheme of the study of social consolidation as a factor of innovative development of the regional space of the South of Russia. Taking as a basis the position of the spatial paradigm, as well as the theory of social topology, the theory of social and institutional practices, structural and institutional approaches, the author proposes his own definition of the region as a special social space, the composition of which is represented by a set of interrelated elements (subspaces) of socio-cultural, socio-economic, political, territorial, etc. character, forming a space of meanings, determining regional processes within certain time limits. In this space of meanings, ideas of consolidation and ideas of innovative development of the regional space are formed.The analysis of consolidation and innovation practices in the South of Russia will allow to correlate them with the structure of meanings in the regional space and to determine the prospects for the transition of regional society to the format of innovative consolidation, within the conceptual boundaries of this work understood as a process characterized by the cohesion of social groups, society as a whole around the idea of innovative development on the basis of a common understanding and agreement on the goals and methods of its implementation.
