Abstract
The article analyzes the manifestation of ethnicity in the attitudes of the inhabitants of the Rostov region. Based on the results of a sociological study, the authors analyze ethnicity as an ethnocultural phenomenon in the structure of identity of residents of the Rostov region, attitudes towards ethnic holidays, manifestations of ethnic patterns in the private sphere of family relations, importance of using their native language in different spheres of life, as well as representation of ethnic patterns in legal awareness. The authors come to the conclusion that the manifestation of ethnicity is observed to a greater extent in the attitudes of the inhabitants of the region concerning the private sphere of relations. The decline of the ethnic component occurs in ideas that relate to the sphere of legal behavior, where civil-state schemes mostly dominate.
