Abstract

The article shows that in Russian society, media reality has become a significant structural unit of society. The visual-figurative form of information transmission affects the system of norms and values, both of individuals and representatives of the mass audience. The dynamics of the values of demonstrative consumption is largely determined by the space of media reality. In the conditions of modern Russian society, the dynamics of values of demonstrative consumption in the space of media reality are caused by the changes that occur in the space of communicative interaction and manifest themselves through media events and through people involved in its self-reproduction. These changes affect the attitudes, behavior’s style, and worldviews of individuals involved in this process.
