Abstract
This article represents the current socio-philosophical discourse around the problem of archaization. It is noted that the dominant attitude of almost all specialists focused on the development of this problem is the recognition of archaization as a leading factor hindering the processes of modernization of the modern Russian society. Archaization is considered as a barrier artificially created by the authorities and spontaneously reproduced by the society itself to solve the problems of social adaptation to the occuring transformations. Based on the carried out analysis the socio-cultural approach, the concepts of challenges of our time, mass society and «man-mass» were selected.
