Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of poststructuralism on the understanding of culture as text in postmodern. The author demonstrates that the text is interpreted not as a collection of linguistic statements, language and speech (writing), but more widely as the universal mobile structure of signs, signals, images, stories, languages, traces and layers. According to the poststructuralism theory in the decentered hypertext the authority and reigns radical pluralism of truths, values are undermined. It is shown that previous projects of historical progress are replaced by a non-linear scenarios of societal development. The result of the analysis is the revelation of the essence of the substitution of history with stories and narratives – questioning the fundamental truths.
