Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of P. D. Yurkevich philosophical and psychological views. It is shown that he established the theoretical area of psychology in the context of the concept «metaphysics of the heart» as a «spiritual speculation», meaning and the essential characteristic of the personality. He understood the human soul as a single dynamic value. In the pursuit of moral ascent it can vary endlessly, and does not open to the direct psychologist gaze as a ready and still image of the things. It is possible only by the observation and introspection. Thus, the definition of the subject area, objectives, tasks and methods of P. D. Yurkevich psychological knowledge came close to the inductive psychology.
