Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the effectiveness of the local self-government authorities’ activity in assessing of the citizens in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 607 of 28 April 2008 "The assessing of the effectiveness of local self-government authorities in the city districts and municipal districts". It is noted that the institution for assessing the local government effectiveness should serve as an indicator of the municipal services quality and accessibility. The results of a survey "The level of population satisfaction with the of local self-government authorities activities" conducted in November-December 2016 in Novocherkassk (Rostov Region) are presented. It is concluded that in order to increase the effectiveness of local self-government authorities, it is necessary to develop a particular tools for interaction between the authorities and the population, based on the principle of openness and accessibility.
