Abstract

The article is devoted to the research and assess of socio-economic development of mono-cities in Southern Federal District. The authors proceed from the fact that the problem of single-industry towns is currently relevant, as the economic situation in the country is not stable, taking into account socio-oriented component. The main objective of the development of single-industry towns is to establish an effective system of interaction between business, regional authorities and non-profit sector with the focus on basic needs and problem areas of the settlements. The authors study the specifics of socio-economic development of the territories, consider the socio-economic development of single-industry towns in Volgograd and Rostov regions.
