Civil society as an object of the sociology of life

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of civil society as an object of the sociology of life. The author expresses the idea that particular the civil society is the object of sociology in general and the sociology of life in particular. The genesis of the ideas about civil society in the framework of the concepts of social state, welfare society (well-being), consumer society, the concept of post-industrial society and the information society, the theory and practice of social partnership, the convergence theory is analyzed. The main characteristics of civil society as an object of the sociology of life are distinguished. According to the author, they are the implementation of social ideas of mutual responsibility and equal cooperation, the autonomous state of public and private life, the priority of individual rights and freedoms, constant coordination of social interests of all the participants of socio-historical process, social protection, respect for human rights and freedoms.
