Abstract
The Rostov region can be regarded a modal component of the federation in view of the existing demographic characteristics that reflect the general tendencies of modern Russian reality. These are the problems of population dynamics, migratory processes and interethnic relations. The article is devoted to the description of these problems on the material of sociological research and statistical data for the Rostov region.
