Abstract

In the article methodological opportunities and structural problems of applying the theory of neoinstitutionalism to the analysis of ethno-genesis in local communities in the South of Russia are analyzed. The article shows that ethno- genesis of South-Russian ethnogroups should be analyzed from the point of the neo-institutional methodology. Analyzing the neo-institutional meaning of ethno-genesis processes, the author comes to the conclusion that one needs to decrease conflictability of ethno- genesis and stabilize the regional society by using new institutions
