Abstract
This article briefly discusses the main directions of the editorial policy of the journal "Scientific Thought of the Caucasus" during the last twenty years. The article shows its role in the integration of science and culture, the weakening of ethnocentrism in the development of social sciences and humanities in the Caucasus. The role of the founder and chief editor Y.A. Zhdanov in overcoming the crisis of science in the Caucasus in the 90's - early 2000's is discussed.
