Abstract

Objective of the study is to analyze the reconstruction of the concept of faith during the process of human transition towards the postmodern era. Methodological basis of the  study is built on the combination of philosophical and social-cultural theories with an emphasis of postmodernism perspective in order to analyze the reconstruction of faith from being a part of religious doctrine to the state of existing as simulacra. Results of the study. As a result of the conceptual analysis of sources the article proposes an understanding of faith through the phenomena of simulacra in the postmodern era. This understanding expresses the symbolic attachment of human consciousness to endlessly reproducible images of mass culture. As an example of this reproduction, we’ll refer to ani-manga culture, which took over the world and assimilated into cultural space of countries to which this culture is alienated. Prospects of the study are in the further expansion of the understanding of faith as a simulacra in the modern world, in the connection with a broader representation of various forms of human behavior that result in simulations of individual religious movements in different spaces of mass culture creations.
