Abstract

Objective of the study is to identify the characteristic features of diasporality and the peculiarities of the functioning of the Ossetian community in Turkey. The methodological basis of the study includes the analysis of existing approaches to the study of diasporas, theoretical provisions of domestic and foreign scholars in the field of diasporality, as well as methods of qualitative content analysis.   The results of the study. The diaspora of the Ossetian community in Turkey is a unique phenomenon reflecting the complex interaction between the preservation of ethno-cultural identity and adaptation to a non-ethnic environment. Ossetian ethnic identity is based on such key elements as language, traditions, collective memory and activity, which ensures its sustainability even in conditions of significant assimilation pressure. However, observed changes, such as the increase in inter-ethnic marriages and the decline in the use of the Ossetian language among young people, underscore the need for stronger institutional support and educational programmes.   Prospects of the study. The presented results have scientific significance for further study of diaspora communities and can be used in the implementation of programmes aimed at strengthening ethno-cultural heritage in multi-ethnic society.
