Abstract
Objective of the study is analysis of the views of modern philosophers of India on the problem of constructive, reasonable, enlightened patriotism in modern conditions of globalization.
The methodological basis of the research – analysis and generalization of sources on the topic, problem-focused comparison of approaches of modern Russian and Indian thinkers.
The results of the study. The main thesis of the article is that globalization and patriotism are not antagonistic. After all, the feeling of being a part of some socio-cultural unity is one of the basic human needs. And constructive patriotism helps this kind of self-identification through acquaintance with the world cultural diversity and formation of benevolent interest in what distinguishes us from each other. In addition, the study revealed that the intellectual community in India as well as the domestic researchers have a twofold attitude towards globalization processes. In their opinion, globalization is a natural and natural process that can be both creative and destructive.
Prospects of the study consist in the subsequent study of the problem of constructive, enlightened patriotism in the philosophical discourses of various regions of the world.
