Abstract

Objective of the study is to consider the role of the political elite in ensuring the national security of the state. The methodological basis of the research is the elitological and civilizational approaches.   The results of the study. The political elite is the subject that ensures the national security of the state. To ensure the latter, it is necessary to achieve unity of goals and interests of the authorities and society, the state and citizens, since their polarization leads to a crisis of power institutions, loss of trust in them on the part of the population. Currently, there is a process of nationalization of elites, which is a change in the lifestyle and content of consciousness of the authorities, their reorientation from personal interests to the interests of society and the state, the readiness of representatives of the political elite to solve the most important problems of their own country.   The prospects of the study. The problem of national security of the state is of scientific and practical interest in connection with the escalation of the civilizational confrontation between Russia and the collective West.
