Abstract

Objective of the study is to analyze the opinions and positions regarding citizenship among the youth of modern Russia that have developed in the scientific research literature with an emphasis on expert positions and assessments of sociologists in a theoretical and applied key. The methodological basis of the research. In this work, the author relies on scientific research positions and works of Russian scientists, containing conceptual and applied aspects of studying youth in the context of its formation and manifestation in the environment of citizenship. The work also used theoretical concepts and developments in the field of citizenship, the features of its formation in societies of different types and civilizational specifics. Research results. The connection between citizenship and patriotism among young people is largely abstract. It is perceived at the level of cognitive-value attitudes - as something that should be and has always been. However, the dominance of patriotism in the consciousness of young people as an emotional feeling with an emphasis on the military-patriotic tradition, which is important in the conditions of the Special military operation, does not contribute to the activation of the active component of patriotism. Sociological studies record a high demand from young people for active patriotism, for civic activism, the manifestation of which is significantly limited in the conditions of modern realities. Prospects of the study are seen in the search for ways and conditions for the implementation of the existing demand from Russian youth for active patriotism and civic activism, the manifestation of which is significantly limited in the context of modern socio-political realities.
