Abstract

Objective of the study is to consider, using the example of two territories associated with the names of outstanding Russian writers, the importance of cultural heritage in the socio-cultural development of the Rostov region. The methodological basis of the research consisted of archival data, little-known biographical facts, memories of compatriots, literary sources, periodicals, statistical data and government acts. Results of the study. The tendency of the influence of intellectual, spiritual and cultural heritage on modern social practice and the prospects for the development of a specific territory, the creation of the image of the Rostov region as a sought-after cultural center, is indicated. Research рerspectives. This material will be useful for the modern information society, in which the most important condition is to build spiritual and intellectual potential.
